Hey Fellow Students!
T'is I, back again with another blog post. Now, getting ready for school is a lot more important than one might initially think. It isn't just waking up, throwing clothes on and eating breakfast, oh no. Here are five proven ways that can improve your school day just by what you do in the morning ( or even the night before) before you go to school. Let's get into it ^-^!
~Wake Up Earlier~
Now it's no secret that teenagers love sleep, myself being just as guilty as the rest of you, and waking up earlier than you have to can be quite a struggle. However, in my personal experience, I have found it beneficial to get up the hour or even half an hour earlier. You can use this to study for a test you have later in the day, to pack your bag for school, iron your clothes, make a new breakfast idea you saw online, the possibilities are endless. Even if you just to get ready for your day earlier, it will help you to be more organised and make you feel like you're in less of a rush.
~Eat Breakfast~

Hear me out. I know you may be thinking "well duh" but this is actually a very important step. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason. Not even an elaborate breakfast is requred, just eat something substantial! "Scientists from Duke University found that eating a breakfast full of healthy fats, whole grains, and a serving of protein helped kids learn new things faster and remember them better later"(Charlotte Hilton Andersen, 2016) . Granola and fruits work great if you don't like to eat heavy things in the morning like I do. Waffles and pancakes are great if you want something that will keep you full longer and have a bit more time on your hands. Throw some eggs and bacon in there too! Try to spice up your breakfast menu so you won't get bored of eating the same thing everyday. And if all else fails, sandwiches are a quick and easy go to.
~Put Your Phone Down~
Make your phone the last thing you pick up in the morning. It sounds difficult, because it is. I know the first thing I do when I get up is reach for my phone so I'm no better than any of you. However, this can cause you to get sucked into the realm of social media and hinder your preparation for the day making you late, and cause you to feel rushed and irritated when you finally come back to reality. Concentrate of the important duties you must complete first before picking up your phone, that way it can be seen as a little reward or stress reliever at the end of your morning routine! Bonus: It decreases the dependence you have on your phone ^-^.
~Get 10 minutes of Exercise~
According to a study published by Active Living Research, even ten minutes can improve children’s attention, memory, and learning skills in the classroom (Charlotte Hilton Andersen, 2016). Though you may not particularly want to exercise as soon as you get up, there are many benefits associated with it! Exercise allows the body to wake up faster and well as warms up muscles for the day ahead. It can also be used to calm nerves and improve focus. It keeps you fit too so, win win!
~Pray Before You Start Your Day~
Something my parents have always drilled into me was that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It has come to be something I believe as well. When you wake up you should pray for a lot of things: to thank God for waking you up and keeping your family safe, to protect you through out your day and even for small personal things, like for Him to help you remember everything in that test you studied for. My point is, even when you have no one on your side, God's always there for you. even if you aren't Christian, or religious at all, praying and/or meditation can be a great way for you to start your day.
All right! Those are all my tips for you. I hope you found at least one helpful and will consider implementing it into your daily life. Please comment and share!
Happy Prepping,
Christin.
